District Picnic Cardboard Boat Race

Jeff Donahue worked tirelessly to built what some said was the best boat entered into the District Picnic's 5 annual cardboard boat race. District Governor Brad Robinson was quoted as saying "Jeff has built the best boat to ever be entered into this world class competition. You can tell that Jeff is a master craftsman with all his attention to detail." I overheard Jeff talking with Phil White stating that he knew that boat would not sink; but it did have some reservations with the crew. Captain Joe Harding and First Mate Chris Reimann were designated to crew the boat by retired El Segundo Admiral Dave Reimann. Dave stated that when he raced he finished first place in a one man boat classification. He told me that he had been training his crew for several weeks and had high expectations. Too bad these expectations did not hold water.........
