ImageDr Ray Gen from El Segundo High School was our guest speaker today. Dr. Gen talked about El Camino College; where he serves on the Board of Trustees. Dr. Gen shared demographic information on the students and transition rates at El Camino. He also spoke about the upcoming realignment of trustee boundaries. This will have an impact on Dr Gen and El Segundo because we will no longer have our own Trustee representing just El Segundo. In the future El Segundo will be lumped with Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo. Dr. Gen's presentation was very informative; we would like to thank Nancy Cobb for inviting Dr. Gen to speak.

Joe Harding shared that Hunter Gabel; son of Laura Gabel was very active in the organization and administration of the Pier to Pier Walk a couple of weeks ago. This walk generated $27,000 to The Ed Foundation. Congratulations Hunter and Laura, Good Job.

Jeami Duncan has returned from Uganda and she briefly shared some stories about her interaction with some Uganda Rotarians. She is scheduled to be a speaker in March where she will update us on Mercy's Village and her latest trip to Africa.

We had a special visitor at the meeting; Lt Carlos Mendoza of the El Segundo Police Department. Everyone welcomed Carlos and Gary Wilson commented about how nice he looked in his uniform.

As most of you know Julie Warner is retiring from State Farm and moving to northern San Diego county. She is having a retirement party this Saturday night at the Standard Restaurant and Bar. If you have time stop by and enjoy some fellowship with Julie.

Our attendance continued to be impressive; if you're not one of those do like Joe Harding says and "come hungry...leave inspired" the lunches are working out great with the buffet in the meeting room and the food is delicious. It was nice to see Julia Abreau-Mason and Mr. Bill Mason

This was last weeks reaction to Joke Master; Jack Weber....Hailey and Szophie were not impressed.
