Announcements (Go Kings Go)

Melissa is cruising down the last lap of her Presidency and also had a birthday this week…the big 60.  She didn't seem thrilled with the idea.  Some of us would be thrilled with that number, and others can’t imagine themselves that old.  It is all relative.  As long as my thinking is like a 16 year old and I associate with 12 year old minds like Phil, Tom, and Jack...I am fine.  We giggle a lot.

The Meeting

We had some visitors.  Chuck Perlis (I think that is Chucks last name...he makes more meetings than many of our members...) He visits regularly and so does Ed Su. I think Ed was there too.  It was nice to see them.

I love to kid Ed because he gives it right back to me.  Did you know that Ed was "Rotarian of the Year a few years back".  Just thought I would share with those of you that were not here at the time.  He is a "behind the scenes kind of guy.  Always helping, always reliable, solid...a true Rotarian.  You need help, he will grin at you, and help he gives.  He's a private guy.  Hi Ed, hope I didn't embarrass
 you.  (No I'm not:)

Joe Harding introduced Michelle as a visitor and she is a Summer Intern working at the Hacienda.

Sandy and Carl had an anniversary and have been married 48 years now.  Where does the time go? What can you talk about for 48 years?Sandy and Carl Found Love, hopefully for 48 years but hey…30 would be good too.

Many of us in the room have been married a long time but finding real love is as natural easy as, well I don’t know.  I met Mary in a Bar, so finding love for me was easy.  Brennans in the Marina.  Mary was working as a Nurse at the Marina Hospital across the street and after work her and her girl friends would go across the street to the Bar, and there I was.  What a catch.  I brought out some of my best lines and about 7 years later we were married.  Easy.

I sat next to Bill Mason up front for a change (I am starting to move around the room with my new found position of Exalted Bulletin Editor) and Bill and I had a nice chat.  Julia, (the wife) sat across from Bill.  That’s the way love is. Sometimes you are next to each other (like Bill and I) and sometimes you sit across from each other like Bill and Julia.  Some times you talk, and some times you don't.  You need to know the right time.

The Speaker (Love Adviser)

Love Advisor

The Speaker talked about finding love through Story Boarding.  What is Story Boarding you might ask? :   Well, it is about taking pictures, thoughts, phrases, ideas etc. and putting them on a Board with you or your focal point in the center.  The speaker found her husband in that way along with her cat.  She found some pictures of men she liked the look of, and pussy cats she liked the look of, put them in the center of a large poster board and surrounded them with supporting pictures and "VOILA" --  a year or so later she had a husband that looked like the picture and a pussy cat that looked like the picture....and they all lived happily every after.  It's a good thing the didn't get mixed up with the husband looking like the pussy cat and the pussy cat looking like the husband.  It's risky.  She was lucky.  She found love "in the center" of her story board so to speak.

I decided to go around the room and take a look at a few of us that were using a blank sheet of paper to start our Story Boards. To maker our dreams come true.   A couple of our larger members had cheese burgers with bacon on them; some of us in power positions had a picture of dictators;  a few of our male members had some pussy cats in their center;  in essence you put whatever interests you the most in the center.

For example:  If you want love with a very handsome person like Brad Pitt, you might find a picture of myself and put that in the center of your story board.  Then you would build the perimiters of the board with love sonnets, Barry White songs, frilly things and thoughts of romance.  Give me a call, my number is on the Roster if I can help.

Dave Reiman had a picture of a football player in the center of his board.  Tom had a sheep.
