FEATURED SPEAKER - Maureen McKinley, Member of the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee.
Bio: Third generation Rotarian. Second generation of being a member of the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee. Father John M. McKinley was chair of the 1997 Parade and I was chair for the 2009 Parade. My father was a PDG of Dt. 5260 and Zone Coordinator for Polio Plus. He had perfect attendance. Thus I was "raised in Rotary". Father served on RRPFC from 1989 to 2009. I have served from 1994 to date. I believe I am the "oldest" member of the RRPFC that is still actively participating. I am the third girl in a family of four. Fourth was a younger brother also a Rotarian in Mt. Holly NC and a National Advisor for the RRPFC. Currently my position is as an Honorary Director and Legal Liason with RI and the Tournament of Roses, being a retired California Lawyer. I negotiated the Licensing Agreement with RI the first being req'd in 2008. My current "tasks" within the RRPFC are Facebook poster and in charge of "costuming" the Float Participants since 2016. Currently live in Las Vegas, member of the Rotary Eclub of SW USA, Dt. 5495. Major Donor. Member of Project Committee I live alone with my Dog Pericles, my fourth Rottweiler. My other charities are: Veterans' Stand Down, I collect books from friends, neighbors and local Vegas Rotary Clubs I sometimes volunteer with Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Nevada Blind Children Foundation and Grant-A-Gift , Autism.
