On 7/30/20 we welcomed guest speaker Anna Garalde from Mychal's Learning Place. Anna is currently the Community Relations and Events Director at Mychals. She has been with the organization for 13 years and has been actively involved in all of its aspects. She went from working as a Support Staff member in the Hawthorne After School Program, to working the Saturday programs, to directing the morning Adult Day program, and is now collaborating with the outside community through businesses, donors, and other organizations. She works with Mychals to provide the support, training and opportunities to youth and young adults with developmental disabilities in order to build their independence and pursue their goals and dreams. She gave us a virtual tour of the facility and gave us an update on how Mychal's has adapted its program to cope with the pandemic.
