Rotary Meeting 6-14-2012 “21 Days to a New Life"

The Meeting:  1 more meeting  to go after this one for Melissa and her "Watch" is over and passed a long to Tom.  Oh Boy!  But that's another story.

Scouts attended.  Over the years we have had many a Scout come and tell us about their Eagle Project and they usually walk away with some financial help and this fella was no different.  These guys always have such confidence and presence.  I shoulda worked on more badges.  Maybe in my next life.   I always walk away feeling like our future is in good hands with these young souls and hope that the riggors of the world to not change their outlook on life.

The Program: 

21 Days to a New Life

Another way to change our lives was taught to us.  Our speaker had a menu of items on how to improve our lives.  One of them only took 21 days and it had to do with changing habits.  If you can do something “new” for 21 days straight, you have changed your life.  I was pretty happy with my life, but there are “areas” that need to be improved and I am going to give it a shot.   I only have 14 more days to go and I can start wearing some speedo's.  I will probably have to talk to a Family Law Attorney as well.

Body Language

Did you know you can tell all about someone by their Body Language.  She also could “read” people by their “gait” or the way they walked.  She asked for Volunteers to be “read”.  Julia put her hand up and came to the center of the room and was asked to “walk”.  She walked and we were asked to comment on what we see.  There was lots of comments and you can see by the smiles of the people in the room that many were “in good fun”.  Julia is a very good sport.  She was smiling too.  I hope she is still smiling

  

Hypnosis (I am a believer)

There is no question this worked.  Phil Volunteered to by Hypnotized and I believe that he was.  Even more important…he believes that he was.  At first it appeard to be a set up, but afterward I asked Phil and he said no…he has been hypnotized before and it works on him.  He said he was susceptible to the process. 

He was told that there was a balloon under one of his arms and a weight on the other and you can see by the picture below what happened.  He was then handed a set of car keys and told to hang on to them by one key.  No problem.  Then he was told they were getting heavier and heavier and he would have problems hanging on to them.  He did.  He was then told that the keys had some oily substance on it….and he dropped the keys…couldn’t  hang on.  That won me over and that is something I need to look into more.   30 plus years ago I had a migraine headache at least once a month for most of my life.  I tried hypnosis…and never had a headache again.  Not sure how it works, but it does.
